Hmm

“When the world sees us doing evangelism, they just see us recruiting. When they see us doing justice, they see God’s glory.” — Tim Keller

It’s a pretty interesting take on the non-christian perspective. I wonder what the context is around this quote but it also makes me wonder if we should rethink how we evangelize to the people around us. I don’t think that he’s saying we shouldn’t preach the gospel, but I think he’s hitting at something pretty interesting. I think people are at different places now than they were 50 years ago. This kind of hits at how skeptical and critical people are of the church today. And how to actively show and gain trust and respect from those of whom you don’t already have a relationship. I wonder how we can take this perspective and apply it to our campus today.

How can people on our campus see God’s glory?

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!
(Psalm 139:14-18; 23-24)

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
(Micah 6:8)
